Position Summary
The Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in a fast-paced environment. This role ensures equipment reliability and supports continuous plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, dismantle, and move machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans and blueprints.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
- Align and balance equipment using precision tools (laser alignment, dial indicators, etc.).
- Conduct inspections to identify wear, damage, or needed adjustments.
- Weld, cut, and fabricate components as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Millwright certification or apprenticeship preferred.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance or millwright experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with welding, rigging, and equipment alignment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in heavy industrial environments (cement plants, mining, manufacturing, or similar).
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs.
- Experience with MSHA or OSHA safety standards.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs.
- Work in outdoor and industrial environments, including exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, climb, bend, and work extended hours as needed .
